With the summer sun right around the corner, looking your best is a must. Swimming pools, beaches and other outdoor locations require less clothing, causing more skin to show. But that doesn’t mean you need to undergo surgery to look good.

Below are some of the safe facial treatments you can opt for during spring/summertime.

Botox™ NYC For Crow's Feet, Wrinkle Reduction & Treatment

Botox™ is one method of beautification that does not require months of preparation. Instead, it takes less than five minutes to perform. A wrinkle relaxer made from botulinum toxin type A, Botox™ is designed to relax the facial muscles which are responsible for wrinkled skin.

Although showing emotion is a daily part of life, as you age, the wrinkles around your eyes might remain even when your face is relaxed. This is because the skin around the eyes is extremely thin, thus causing the area to lose elasticity and collagen faster. These wrinkles, which are called Crow’s feet, are regarded as dynamic wrinkles because they are formed by repetitive facial expressions.

If you are currently dealing with the appearance of fine lines around the eyes, Botox™  might be what you need. Aside from it being a quick and a natural looking solution, its results last for 3 to 4 months. View Botox™ before/after photo gallery here >>

Sofwave™ NYC is the next-generation non-invasive skin tightening treatment with little to no downtime.

Sofwave™ was approved by the FDA in 2019, and along with Ultherapy™ , are clinically proven procedures for skin tightening and wrinkle reduction on the face and neck. In the words of Dr Shelton, this new technology targets the specific dermal layer of the skin avoiding treatment of the deeper subcutaneous layer.

It is a quick procedure taking as little as 90 minutes for the full face and neck region. A majority of patients need only one treatment. However, some may need 1-2 treatments depending on the patient’s skin condition and the physician‘s recommendation.

This treatment can be done annually to proactively improve collagen production and to combat the hands of time.

Some patients have felt their skin tighten almost immediately. However, as the Collagen regeneration process takes up to a year or more to obtain its optimum results, the patient may see gradual improvements taking place around 6 to 12 months, or more, following the completion of the procedure.

With neither a prolonged recovery nor a downtime it is an ideal treatment for the season.  View Sofwave™ before/after photo gallery here >>

Microneedling with RF in NYC for improvement of Tech Neck / Neck Lines and Wrinkles

Microneedling with radiofrequency has proven to be an effective technology that Dr Shelton provides to his patients to improve the skin’s integrity with minimal downtime.

Microneedling is a tried and tested procedure which promotes the growth of new collagen in your skin. The radiofrequency energy is delivered through the epidermis directly to the dermis, and, in some cases, to the deeper structures to encourage your skin to become tighter.

Patients ideally go through a series of 3 treatments spread a month apart.  The downtime is minimal and, unlike minimally invasive procedures such as ThermiTight™, there is no need for the problematic areas to be injected with local anesthetic. Not only can it rejuvenate the outer surface of your skin, but it can also improve the infrastructure of the skin that becomes loose, sagging and crepey over time.

Microneedling with RF is used for acne scars, “smoker’s lines” above and below the lips, generalized facial wrinkling, and creases above the elbows and above the knees. It also helps smoothen skin laxity on the thighs. While it does not deliver the same amount of skin tightening that plastic surgery would produce, many patients prefer less invasive procedures such as these as they do not want to have a plastic surgical scar.
