Is Belotero a good solution for wrinkle reduction in NYC?

Belotero is one of the newest names in dermal fillers. It was awarded FDA approval in 2011, and it has gained considerable popularity since. Like Restylane, Juvéderm, and many other familiar brands, Belotero is formulated with a hyaluronic acid (HA) base. It has a somewhat thin, exceptionally smooth consistency, and the ability for adaption within the skin, allowing for smooth, soft, natural looking results.

Belotero vs. other fillers

Dr Ron Shelton has elevated standards of quality, which we do not compromise. Subpar, ineffective, or unsafe products and technologies are not used in his office. We offer several types of dermal fillers, all of which are excellent. Each one has slightly different properties, making is especially well suited to specific situations. The best choice varies according to many factors, including the degree of volume loss, the area to be treated, your desired goals, and your unique facial aesthetics.

We will begin with a three-dimensional facial examination. We carefully evaluate your face from all angles, examining your bone structure and areas of volume loss. Then we can recommend the best filler for your situation. Often, different types of fillers will be used in different areas to achieve the most natural, youthful looking results.

Fillers vs. other nonsurgical wrinkle treatments

Dehydration, reduced collagen production, thinning fat layer, and other factors combine to deplete facial volume over time. As you may know, this can cause wrinkles; however, it is not the only cause. Rigid muscles, especially in the eye and forehead area, cause lines and wrinkles by creating an uneven surface beneath the skin. Fine, crepe paper looking wrinkles can be caused by dryness and poor skin texture. Collagen depletion, loss of elasticity, and other factors also play a role in the development of wrinkles. Therefore, lasers, chemical peels, Botox®, and other types of wrinkle treatments are typically complements, not alternatives, to dermal fillers. The aging process is complex, requiring a customized, multi-faceted treatment plan to achieve optimal results.
