Can Zeltiq™ CoolSculpting reduce the size of my breasts? I am a man and a doctor told me I have pseudo-gynecomastia.

Currently there is no attachment made by Zeltiq™ to fit the breast but possibly you could fit a preexisting handpiece designed for the smallest body tip. It would be an off-lable use. See an experienced physician to investigate this. It would not give you the same reduction in fat as liposuction would but certainly there would be less risk and downtime.

How did anyone ever think to invent Zeltiq™ CoolScultping to reduce fat volume? Why would cooling eliminate fat cells?

It had been reported many years ago, that young children that were given popsicles to quiet them, and allow them to suck on them for prolonged periods had developed fat necrosis of the cheek. That means that the fat layer of the cheek underneath the skin died and thinned out from the freezing. Zeltiq™ developed CoolSculpting by manufacturing two chilling plates in between which the skin and fat are sucked into the unit and held there for one hour. During this time the fat becomes extremely cold, and firm. Inflammation occurs and starts to digest the fat over several weeks. The average result is a 20% reduction in fat volume during the first four months. That's why there may be a little tenderness and bruising can occur from the suction (like a hickey) but is temporary.

If Zeltiq™ works by chilling the fat, does that mean the heating the tissues underneath the skin will make more fat?

This is a very thought-provoking questions, but one that can be answered catergorically,no.! Chilling kills the fat cells, heat can explode the cells liberating their triglycerides, but those circulating T.Gs can come around and laden corporate America with extra layers of fat.

I don't want to have a tummy tuck after my pregnancies, even if it would help me more than liposuction. I don't even want liposuction. Can Zeltiq™ help me enough?

Without examining you it is impossible to say how much Zeltiq™ can help. It does reduce fatty content without surgery but is 20% of your mass in four months enough improvement to make you happy? It can be repeated in three months. The results are better than not doing anything, for most patients, but it is not as good as liposuction. If you need an abdominoplasty, then nothing will make you flat without a tummy tuck.
