I want to undergo Botox of my chin as I usually do, but now I am thinking of Ultherapy. I hope the Ulthera will tighten my face and lift my jowls. Can I do it after the Botox?
Ulthera is done on the face but some areas, such as the chin, are avoided. Therefore there is no problem having the Botox injected into your chin prior to the Ulthera. If other sites of Botox would happen to be in the location of Ulthera therapy, then the Ulthera should be done first, or wait six to twelve months before doing Ulthera after Botox.
I am unhappy with my jowls. They're not big but they're there and I don't want them, but I don't want surgery. Can liposuction help? What about Ulthera or Thermage?
Liposuction has helped some individuals lessen their jowls, but there are risks such as marginal mandibular nerve injury which can give a "stroke-like" appearance when smiling as the affected side would not lower the lower lip on that corner. Thermage has helped patients, but the newer generation Ulthera is more powerful and goes deeper. It can help raise a jowl but the treatment is not guaranteed to give you the same good result as other patients who received possibly excellent tightening.
I just had a baby and worked out hard to lose my weight I gained since pregnancy. How soon after delivery can I have Ulthera on my cheeks?
You can have Ulthera immediately provided you have reached your new weight plateau and you are not breastfeeding. (There is no evidence that Ulthera interferes with breast feeding, but why take a chance when doing an elective process?)
I have been having Botox injections for my forehead creases for the last ten years, but suddenly my physician says that he can't treat the forehead as much because my upper eyelids are sagging and I am using the forehead more and more to help lift the eyelids which is giving me more horizontal creases in the forehead! I am so frustrated. He said that I can consider having Ultherapy which uses Ulthera ultrasound to help lift the forehead. What does this entail?
Both Thermage, radiofrequency, and Ulthera, ultrasonic energy, can peform a non-invasive lifting by tightening the tissue. They are not expected to produce the same good result in height elevation as surgery, such as a brow lift, but many patients are reluctant to have a brow lift. Without surgery, there are not many options. The Ulthera may help tighten your forhead to give it more support and thereby help elevate the upper eyelids and eyebrows too. The result may take six months to be evident. It may be subtle, though. Sometimes fillers are used off label for the outer eyebrow region to help support this and lift the eyelid too.
