How soon after Botox injections of my forehead can I wear a ski helmet?
After the first day, there shouldn’t be any issues with the compression of the helmet and the Botox injections.
If I had Botox injected into my forehead a few weeks ago and now notice a numbness in my cheek, could that be related?
No. Botox affects the motor or movement nerve muscle pathway, not the sensory nerve pathway. Furthermore, the pathways for nerve-muscle interaction on the face are separate on the forehead and cheek. There may be other things causing the cheek numbness such as a trigeminal neuralgia, bells palsy, etc. See a neurologist to understand why these new symptoms are occurring.
Why do I have a swollen hard area on my forehead after Botox?
Swelling can occur after any injection from trauma. There could even be a small collection of blood called a hematoma. It is very easy for your doctor to examine you and let you know what the bump is from. Usually these rare bumps, go away on their own over many weeks.
I want to have Botox injections but I take blood pressure medication, is that a problem?
There is no reason that your taking antihypertensives to keep your blood pressure down will interfere with the Botox injections. Botox injections are given to those who take blood pressure medication commonly.
My forehead has many horizontal grooves because I lift my forehead to help keep my eyes open. My eyelids have sagged and I think I hold up my eyelids by using my forehead. Should I have a brow lift?
The first question to address is if your eyebrows are at their best level or if they’ve dropped. If the eyebrow position is fine, then the upper eyelid skin can be reduced by a blepharoplasty and you’ll stop using your forehead to lift your eyelids. Your lines in the forehead may improve. Once your eyelids are addressed, you could have Botox injected into the forehead muscle to relax it and make the lines less obvious. If you don’t want a surgical blepharoplasty, you could have Botox injected into the area between the eyebrows which will relax these muscles, improving the vertical lines between the eyebrows, and at the same time, elevate the forehead. This happens because the Botox is relaxing muscles that ordinarily pull down on the forehead and the normal forehead muscles then can lift the forehead without actively trying to do so.
