You might obtain a wonderful result by having Botox injections for your hyperhidrosis. You may need some small amount of secondary treatment a few weeks later after the treatment for some areas that didn't take as well. The doctor can check the areas that still perspire by using a Starch-iodine test. The effect of Botox for hyperhidrosis is often longer than the three to four months we see for cosmetic facial treatment.

I had Botox three days ago in NYC but my lines are still there. Should I get more Botox?

Botox might need up to two weeks to show its effect, sometimes longer. You need to be patient as rushing in for more Botox could produce an over treatment with less than satisfactory results.

Should I be concerned if I became pregnant two months after having had Botox?

You should discuss this with your pediatrician but haven't been reports of problems in this regard. If there had been by now there would be a red warning and mandated testing for women prior to having Botox but this is not the case. Yet, no woman trying to conceive or knowing she is pregnant should intentionally seek treatment with Botox for cosmetic reasons.

Can Botoxin NYC be used if it is stored for more than a week?

Yes, most physicians use Botox off-label and store it refrigerated. There is no evidence that the effect of the Botox is compromised. In experienced physicians' offices, the Botox rarely lasts more than a couple of days before a new bottle is used. Usually one bottle only allows me to serve two of my patients for an average treatment and a new bottle must be opened. So it would be difficult to get Botox that has been mixed more than a few days.

Can Botox help my laugh lines?

If you mean your smile creases, this would be an off-label use. Doctors have injected the smile muscles to soften the smile creases but sometimes the problems are not worth the cosmetic improvement. The smile may become asymmetric, the mouth may not open enough, and there could be problems with eating, and speaking.
