Patients in NYC can obtain a more youthful appearance with Belotero injections

One of the newest, most talked-about dermal fillers to hit the market these days is Belotero. This dermal filler is made of hyaluronic acid, similar to other brands on the market. It provides volume to smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face. Hyaluronic acid is used in popular dermal filler brands because it is safe and biocompatible with the body.

Belotero can be used in many situations, which is what makes it a wonderful injectable for a variety of conditions on the face. In skilled hands it straightens and augments facial features such as the nose, lips, brows, and eyes, and can reduce folds and wrinkles around the mouth, nose, chin, and jaw line.

Belotero injections last approximately six to nine months, after which time the filler is slowly absorbed into the body. One treatment usually achieves optimum results immediately, but future injections are necessary to maintain the areas of concern. When patients do not continue to have injections done, their wrinkles and folds reappear slowly, and the signs of aging again become noticeable.

As with anything injected into the body, there are risks of side effects. These are short-term and are well tolerated by most patients. They include irritation, redness, tenderness, itching, and discoloration around the injection site. There is also a chance that patients may be allergic to the hyaluronic acid used in the volumizing gel, although this is rare.

Belotero may be administered in conjunction with any other dermal fillers and injectables such as Botox and Dysport, which work by lessening muscle contractions in specific areas of the face. Patients can enjoy a facial revolumization and rejuvenation by combining treatments, while also considering Ultherapy, Thermage, Pelleve, Portrait Plasma or Fraxel laser therapies to help tighten and tone the skin. Together, these treatments can take years off of one's appearance.

Our physicians work hard to help patients fight the signs of aging in a non-invasive manner, without needing to undergo surgical interventions. Schedule a consultation visit and we will help you determine if Belotero or other hyaluronic fillers are right for smoothing your skin!
